Tad Orval Hoover is the lead attorney of Hoover Kacyon’s Criminal, Traffic and Real Estate Practice Groups. Tad Orval Hoover knew from a very young age, like others in his family, that he was destined to be an attorney. The son of the Honorable Judge Kim R. Hoover and the grandson of the late Orval R. Hoover, Tad was raised in a family that values tradition and has left a strong imprint on the legal community in northeast Ohio. Because of this, Tad joined his sister, Corinne Hoover Six, to carry on a strong family tradition of excellence in the legal field in the same building his grandfather, father, and aunt and uncles have practiced in before him.

Tad is a distinguished attorney in the area of criminal and traffic law, and has a sizable practice of defending people charged with OVIs. Whether the focus is getting a client the best plea deal possible to keep legal costs and other consequences low, or taking your matter to trial, Tad is prepared and knowledgeable at handling both options and will advise his clients of the options that are best for them, based on all of the facts and circumstances of their case.

Tad also practices extensively in the area of real estate law, representing landlords in eviction proceedings, drafting and negotiating real estate closing deals and figuring out complicated real estate issues in the context of probate proceedings or title issues. Tad is uniquely qualified to handle these matters, as he has served as a Property Manager for his family’s own real estate holding business for the past 10 years, and also was previously employed as a law clerk and Special Projects Coordinator for the Summit County Fiscal Office, whose Recording Division handles all title and closing documents for real estate transactions in Summit County, and by an Office of Special Counsel to the Attorney General.

In addition to leading Hoover Kacyon’s Practice Groups in Criminal/Traffic Defense and Real Estate Law, Tad also practices extensively in the field of Family Law. Under the leadership of his sister, Corinne Hoover Six, who has been named by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Certified Family Law Specialist, Tad has spent his entire legal career learning this detailed practice are and devoting himself to matters including divorce and child custody. An experienced family law litigator, Tad is skilled in both extensive trial proceedings as well as negotiating and crafting appropriate settlement options for clients whom do not wish to take their case to trial.

Tad earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Tad enjoys an active lifestyle and loves supporting the sports teams of his Alma Matters, including Woodridge High School, in addition to all of Cleveland’s professional sports organizations.
